KNOW AND VISIT THE CHURCH
The Church of Saint-Quentin de Wirwignes, nestled in the heart of the Boulonnais region, is a little-known gem: externally it looks like a classic 19th century church; but its interior is completely decorated in an oriental style mixing marble with Boulonnais stone. This unique decoration is the work of Abbé Paul Lecoutre who, from 1869, devoted 43 years to it to report on his pilgrimage to Italy and the Holy Land. Considered an essential milestone of Naïve Art, it has been listed in the Inventory of Historic Monuments since 2006.
You will find on this site bibliographic and iconographic resources as well as practical information which will enable you to prepare and deepen your visit.
